The Ningma Municipal (Suburban) Railway (Ningma Line, Nanjing Metro S2) will open for initial operation on April 22~

The Ningma Municipal (Suburban) Railway (Ningma Line, Nanjing Metro S2) will open for initial operation at 10:00 on April 22, 2026.

The Ningma Municipal (Suburban) Railway (Ningma Line, Nanjing Metro S2) starts from Nanjing Xishanqiao Station and ends at Ma’anshan Taibai Station, passing through Nanjing Banqiao New City, Binjiang New City, and Ma’anshan Huashan District, Yushan District, and Dangtu County. The total length of the line is approximately 54.23km, with a total of 16 stations, including 8 stations in the Nanjing section and 8 stations in the Ma’anshan section.

In the early days of line opening, the Ningma City (Suburban) Railway (Ningma Line, Nanjing Metro S2) adopted a single-intersection traffic organization method from Taibai Station to Xishanqiao Station.

Operational arrangements

• Initial operation will be launched at 10:00 on April 22.
• Starting from April 23, the first train will depart from both ends of Taibai Station and Xishanqiao Station at 6:00.
• Starting from April 23, the last train will depart from both ends of Taibai Station and Xishanqiao Station at 22:00.
• From 9:00 to 16:00 every day, express trains depart from Taibai Station and Xishanqiao Station on the hour.
• The express train stops at Taibai Station, Yushan East Road Station, Hubei Road No. 2 Middle School Station, Jiangning Binjiang Development Zone Station and Xishanqiao Station.
• In order to improve commuting efficiency, an additional express train will be added from Taibai Station to Xishanqiao during the morning peak on weekdays, departing from Taibai Station at 7:09.

After the Ningma Municipal (Suburban) Railway (Ningma Line, Nanjing Metro S2) is put into initial operation, the transportation organization will be optimized and adjusted in a timely manner according to passenger flow conditions, and operational services will be continuously improved to ensure passenger travel needs.
